Welcome to Crested Butte
At the end of the paved road and surrounded by panoramic views sits the historic mining town of Crested Butte. Tourism is now the economic engine for Crested Butte, but the character and charm of its past remain. Crested Butte has been called “The Last Great Ski Town” and while its popularity and growth were once primarily driven by the winter recreation on offer, the summer season has now surpassed the winter draw. In the summer months, Crested Butte offers an unrivaled outdoor experience. Between the nearby lakes, rivers, and streams, the seemingly endless miles of singletrack trails and forest service roads, and the constantly changing and abundant wildflowers, there’s something for everyone. Festivals, weekly concerts, and Sunday farmer’s markets are all popular activities for those that are looking for something a little more low-key. Crested Butte is approaching build-out within the town limits and while there are a few opportunities to build new, the majority of the real estate on offer consists of renovated historic homes and newer construction single-family residences that are architecturally sensitive to their surroundings. Just outside of the town limits are numerous options for larger acreage parcels and ranches.
